Help Jonathan become a bestselling author.
Just one to ten minutes of your time can change the rest of his life.
What’s Going On?
This is my first book.
It is the culmination of more than 15 years of experience across multi-billion dollar organizations and small startups, plus graduate school and professional certifications along the way. The book takes all of it and distills it into the philosophy I have come to believe most: that great marketing starts with empathy. Writing the book also gave me an excuse to build a framework around it, so leaders have something practical to actually use.
I wrote it because I believe marketing can be a force for good in the world. Bad marketing manipulates. Good marketing motivates. Great marketing inspires. The thesis of Keeping People Interested is simple: when you genuinely care about the person on the other end, and you add value at every stage of their journey, from the moment they first hear about you all the way to the moment they tell a friend, you do not have to choose between growing your business and doing right by your customers. You get both.
A year and a half went into this. Late nights. Working dinners. Sunny Saturday afternoons, and for the Utahns reading this, plenty of snowy ones too. A lot of sacrifice from me and from the people closest to me. I believe it was worth it. But it is only worth it if people actually know about it. A book can’t help anyone if no one sees it.
Becoming a bestselling author is how that reach happens. It opens doors to speaking gigs, bigger stages, and conversations that carry this message much farther than I could on my own. I have worked really hard for this. The week of May 19 is when it happens or it does not, and you can make the difference.
The actions below take between one and ten minutes. Thank you for being part of this journey. Truly.

5-Star Review Tips, Tricks, and Ideas
A genuine review does not have to be long. The most powerful reviews are honest, specific, and short. Here are a few ways to write one that actually helps other readers decide to pick up the book.
Start with the introduction
If you only have a few minutes, read the introduction and write a review about the book's core philosophy. Mention what stood out to you about the idea that empathy belongs at the center of marketing, or how the framing of adding value at every stage of the customer journey landed for you.
Flip to a random page
Open the book to any page and read for a few minutes. Find a story, lesson, or line that caught your attention. Reference it directly in your review. Specific beats general every time. A review that mentions one real moment from the book is far more useful than a review that speaks in generalities.
Lead with a transformation word
Reviews that signal real impact tend to use a specific kind of language. Pick one of these and build your review around it:
Helped me see…
Transformed how I think about…
Opened new perspectives on…
Inspired me to…
Gave me something practical I could use immediately
Reframed the way I approach…
Challenged my assumptions about…
Clarified something I had been struggling with
Made me rethink…
Sparked an idea for my own business
Share who it is for
A short line about who would benefit from the book is incredibly helpful for other readers. Something like, "If you are a founder who is tired of marketing that feels gimmicky, this book is for you." Or, "Anyone leading a marketing team should read this."
Keep it honest
The best reviews sound like you. They do not need to be polished. Write the way you would describe the book to a friend over coffee. One or two specific things you took away, in your own words, is enough.
A simple template if you are stuck
"[Transformation word] me [what changed]. I especially appreciated [specific moment, idea, or chapter]. Recommended for [type of reader]."
Here is what that might look like filled in:
"This book transformed how I think about marketing. I especially appreciated the story about how Harley Davidson created advocates for their brand by formally empowering local volunteers. Recommended for any founder who wants to grow without resorting to gimmicks."
Three sentences. Done.
